In 1993, Mr. Ye Jindui, the Master of Electrochemistry, established the Xiamen Ekem Chemicals Co., Ltd, making the first progress of Ekem business by noble metal electroplating formula.
In 1994, the AG-200 Bright Silver Plating Process was developed, the amazing synthetic process of Ekem had made the most leading low-current-density process (0.1A/10min, the Hull Cell specimen panel front and back surface are bright and white without yellowing), who is the navigator in the functional bright thick silver electroplating.
In 1996, the 921 Acid Cyanide-free Bright Zinc Plating of the high temperature resistant tolerance aldehyde system was developed, which was the first to use the high temperature resistant tolerance carrier technology to the aldehyde system, overcoming the weak points such as the poor heat high temperature resistant tolerance of conventional aldehyde system, and poor covering power and too many decomposition products of benzylideneacetone system, its overall performance has reached internationally advanced level.
In 1998, the first branch, Quanzhou Branch was established, indicating the first step of Ekem’s expansion to the whole country.
In 2001, the Ningbo Agency Office was established. The innovative distribution and service model promoted the rapid development of the business, and Ekem had become a national well-known brand.
In 2002, the 221 Alkaline Cyanide Zinc Plating Process with high throwing power was developed, the brightness is the same as the acid zinc but without embrittlement, getting rid of the contradiction of brightness and embrittlement in the conventional process, and the overall performance (stability, anti-impurity impurities tolerance, current range, heat resistant high temperature tolerance etc.) has reached internationally advanced level.
In 2003, the 10th anniversary of the foundation of the company, the headquarter purchased new offices in the Youdianguangtong Building at the CBD of Xiamen, beginning a new march.
In 2003, the environmentally friendly trivalent chromating process was developed. Ekem was the first to use the nano sealing technology directly into in the passivator, passivation solution overcoming the weak point of without self-healing for the conventional Trivalent Chromating Process, greatly improving the corrosion resistance, this was highly praised by the industry.
In 2003, the company invested tens of millions CNY to build the world first class electrochemistry research center and chemical plant, and the project completed and put into operation in 2007.
In 2004, the 2311 Alkaline Cyanide-free Zinc-iron Plating Process was developed, with the virtues of the word leading 221 Alkaline Cyanide-free Zinc Plating Process, the products were exported overseas, and used by famous manufacturers such as Volvo.
In 2004, the 2331 Alkaline Cyanide-free Zinc-nickel Plating Process was developed, the stability of nickel content (10%-15%) and broad temperature range (25℃-45℃) were the state-of-art globally.
In 2005, the International Trade Department was established, the Ekem high-end technologies and products entered the markets in Europe and America as well as countries in Asia, making the Ekem brand internationally well-know.
In 2006, Mr. Ye became the member of the editorial committee of the Electroplating Manual, participating in the preparation of the manual, sharing the theory and experience with the industry.
In 2008, the first in China to introduce in the ERP, OA and CRM Integrated Information Management system fully conforms to the International Standard Management.
In 2008, there was breakthrough on the TS-262 Super Corrosion Resistant Blue Trivalent Chromating Process. The barrel plating product after 96 hours of Neutral Salt Spray test, and rack plating product after 168 hours, there was no white rust, the corrosion resistance is 2 to 4 times of the conventional products.
In 2008, Ekem made great breakthrough on the two areas: the anti-alkali fog of Cyanide-free Zinc Plating and quantitative measurement of additives, and applied national invention patent.
In June 2008, Mr. Ye Jindui, the Chairman of the Ekem, attended the interfinish2008 international conference. He presented the keynote speech and was awarded Specially Invited Technical Report Award, indicating that the technical advantage and academic progress of Ekem were recognized by the international industrial and academic world. Ekem was among the top companies with high technology.
In 2008, after the improvement of products of Bright Alkaline Cyanide-free Zinc Plating Process, there was breakthrough of independent control of the brightness and dispersion of the coating throwing power, and the problem of uneven dispersion deposit thickness of cyanide-free alkaline Zinc barrel plating was solved, the overall performance reached word leading
In September 2008, Mr. Ye Jindui, the Chairman of the Ekem, as the only representative, was invited by the United Nations Environment Programme to attend the Amendment Symposium of Stockholm Treaty about Persistent Organic Pollutants (PoPs), indicating that Ekem’s technology and philosophy of green technology was highly accepted at home and abroad.
